This project is a group effort: lots of the information I find has already been uncovered, transcribed, scanned, posted, or otherwise prepared long before I started putting it all together. This is, at its root, an electronic venture, possible only through technology, and so it’s built upon many people I’ve never even met. There is a long list of people that deserve my thanks; the ones listed below are just the tip of the iceberg.

Joe Yranski formerly of the Donnell Media Center (or should I say “of the former Donnell Media Center”), whose reigning passion is all things Colleen Moore: his knowledge has filled in many gaping holes in my research, and his opening of his home to me (and many other researcher as well) allowed me to stay in New York to rifle through his considerable Colleen Moore collection longer than I otherwise would have been able to.

Kevin Brownlow, whose enthusiasm for my project and the prospect that a biography on the actress might be produced has been a constant source of encouragement. When I first contacted him he photocopied practically everything he had that would fit on top of the copier glass that he had on Colleen, an act that caused my single binder of notes to grow to three in less than a week. Both Kevin and Joe wrote letters of recommendation for my request for research funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities. If my research is funded, it will be due in large part on the strength of their reputations in the field of film history and preservation.

Judy Hargrave Coleman, who has kindly spoken to me many times on the telephone, and her brother Homer Jr. who I've spoken to once early on in my research. She has also had me as her guest in her home, allowed me to rifle though family albums, fed me and generally been a great, great help in getting a better feel for Colleen, as well as finding a treasure-trove of information on her family.

Rick Levinson, who first put me in contact with Joe Yranski, and who I will turn to someday when it comes time to produce a Colleen Moore documentary... he's chock full of suggestions, though before I start thinking that far along, I'll need go at least start the biography.

David L Kiehn, for telling me about, while viewing "The Prince of Graustark," the actress who played "The Maid," an uncredited part jumped out at him as undeniably being Colleen Moore. The rumor has been floating around for years and I would like to confirm it, but have never seen either the film or the actress, and so cannot yet pass judgment.

Lisa Bradberry in Tampa, Florida, whose offer to do research for me in Florida had helped fill in some of the holes in my information on Colleen’s childhood there.

Jeff Gardocki, of Port Huron, MI, where Colleen was born, for volunteering to go through the local papers for me in search of materials relater to Colleen's.

Steve Moore, related to Colleen through Colleen's aunt Elizabeth Moore, who passes along information to me whenever he finds anything interesting.

Alanna Moore Morrison Smith, Colleen's oldest niece, for her kind offer of family information to add to what I have already gathered, and to Becky Carlson, her daughter, who put me in contact with Alanna.

Roger Mitchell for sending his collection of Colleen Moore images... check out his website through the "Links" page.

Liesl Ehardt for providing me with her aunt’s research into the life of John McCormick. Liesl is a relative of Zita Johann, actress and second wife of McCormick, and an actress herself.

Patty Power Bohannan, Director of Alumni Relations at the Academy of the Holy Names in Tampa, Florida, for looking into the archives and coming up with occasional answers to my questions related to Colleen's Tampa years. As Kathleen Morrison, she left for Hollywood before finishing her education, and so as a non-graduate they have very little information on her... no way to tell what her grades were in math. However, they have still been very good at digging up info for me.
