Colleen Image Gallery

Taken by Evans of L.A., this image portrays Colleen as the innocent child and is reminiscent of images of Mary Pickford; note her long, curled hair. The hand written inscription reads: "Colleen made a personal appearance for me at the Miller Theatre in L.A. selling candy in the lobby for Red Cross. A charming girl of 17." Promotional appearances were an important aspect of nurturing her the-year old career.

(Below is a later image also by Evans).

Below, photographed by Witzel of L.A., who would photograph her throughout her career. Taken about the same time as the Evans image to the left, as evidenced by the long, curled hair.

Right, a pair of artistic images by photographer Murillo of L.A. In addition to promotional work for the studios, doubtless Colleen traded her time posing for images like these that could be used in a portfolio to show the many diffeent  looks she could achieve. These images do not look to be associated with any specific production.
